Mission

Our Purpose

Many small businesses, associations and community initiatives are driven by passionate people and strong ideas. What is often missing are the structures, resources and support needed to turn that energy into lasting impact.

maame exists to close that gap — creating clarity, strengthening processes and building the foundations that allow organizations to grow intentionally and sustainably.

Name

More Than a Name

maame is inspired by the idea of trusted guidance — by qualities often associated with the role of a mother.

  • Trust
  • Care
  • Honest advice
  • Support
  • Accountability
  • Finding your own path

The name comes from a West African language — a deliberate choice, even though my own roots are East African. It reflects the connection across the African diaspora and the belief that communities grow stronger when they see themselves as part of a shared whole.

Vision

Creating Opportunities

maame works with a particular focus on the Afro-diasporic community while remaining open to all organizations aligned with our values.

Long-term, we want to build a respected consulting and events organization — creating opportunities for talented professionals from the Afro-diasporic community, collaborating with skilled freelancers, and ultimately opening up meaningful jobs and pathways for lasting impact.

Founder

Meet the Founder

I combine experience in HR, process and change management with a deep commitment to community work. Alongside my role in a global consulting firm, I volunteer within an Afro-diasporic women's organization and bring both professional expertise and lived experience to the work I do.

While maame is about more than one person, trust matters. If you'd like to learn more about my professional journey and experience, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn.
